Mr. Coffee Cafe Frappe

This past weekend, Justin and I bought a Mr. Coffee Cafe Frappe machine.  There was a sale going on at Meijer (20% off any single general-merchandise item) so it was a great time.  I have recently gotten addicted to the Mocha and Caramel Frappes at McDonald’s and was looking for a cheaper alternative.

Enter the Cafe Frappe.  Our only real problem was that up until now we never kept any ice in the freezer as we don’t have any drinks that we need to make colder.  So, we first had to wait over six hours for our slow ice maker to make two cups of ice.  The pictures/steps below are from my Mocha Frappe this morning.

Start by putting three tablespoons of dark roast coffee in the brewer along with 1/2 cup of water.

Next, place the following ingredients in the blender jar in this order:

Two cups ice
Two tablespoons sugar
Three tablespoons syrup
1/4 cup milk

The ingredients don’t really look too appetizing yet though.  Let’s brew and blend it!  After the very loud blending process, pour into a glass, top with Reddi Whip and syrup and serve!  Tastes just as good as McDonald’s.

Instead of waiting for ice maker, buy two ice trays and you would have had ice in 1/2 to 1 hr. The Frappe looks so good and refreshing. Can’t wait until you serve us one when we come to see you and Justin. lol

Now that it’s had a chance to run a lot more there’s plenty of ice – the first day or two were rough though. 🙂
