KeithMcD.com first started in January of 2004. Since then, it has seen too many changes to even count.

I’ve changed the software the site is powered by too many times, each time complicating the site more and more.

Now, I’ve stepped back and am running the site with WordPress. It’s very nice for blogging and very good for administration. Therefore, KeithMcD.com will more likely than not continue to be powered by WordPress for quite a while.

I’ve been on this Earth since June 9, 1984. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems Technology from Purdue University in May of 2006, and a Masters Degree in CIT from Purdue University in December of 2016.

Currently I work for Oracle as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in Seattle, WA. I have worked for a variety of companies in technical roles including Amazon Web Services (Seattle, WA), Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN), South Central Community School Corporation (Union Mills, IN), Purdue North Central (Westville, IN), US Steel (Gary, IN), and for an IT consulting firm (Valparaiso, IN).

Some information about me personally is that I am married to the love of my life and we have a daughter together. I read on occasion, although usually it’s blog posts and technology news and journals. Although my life is dominated with Macs and other Apple devices, I professionally am focused on Linux and containerization. I love technology – the field along with how quickly things are changing for the better!
