Tonight I was reading “The Advocate” (which I’m unfortunately not going to renew – simply because I like “Out” better at this point) and came across an article titled “Big Gay Following: Seth MacFarlane.” Don’t tell me you don’t know who Seth is? If you don’t, treat yourself to a little stroll down Wikipedia Lane and then come on back.
For those of you still with me, there was one section of the article which really caught my eye and really says everything I was wanting to say in my original post.
…I thought to myself, Why is it that Johnny Spaghetti Stain in fucking Georgia can knock a woman up, legally be married to her, and then beat the shit out of her, but these two intelligent, sophisticated writers who have been together for 20 years can’t get married? It’s infuriating and idiotic. I’m incredibly passionate about my support for the gay community and what they’re dealing with at this current point in time. I have arguments with people where I get red in the face, screaming at the top of my lungs.
-Seth MacFarlane in the Feb 26, 2008 issue of The Advocate
As a member of the gay community (Do I need to show ID to prove it?), I for one thank Seth. He is exactly the type of people that America should be filled with. Get rid of all those whose only goal is to spread their own missery and hatred and instead fill it with open-minded and intelligent people.
‘Nuff said. I’m out… I mean – I’m leaving. I’m already out… you know – of the closet.
